Collection: Mungai

Most of gentlemen's pocket squares are presented in prints, and there are few designs that use embroidery to add layering. However, Mungai from Italy has swept the suit world with its embroidered pocket squares.

The art of embroidery originated in Pistoia, Italy in the 17th century. It began to develop from the nuns of the local monastery and students of the girls' school. There is even an embroidery museum dedicated to displaying rich embroidery knowledge and products. Here, embroidery was mainly used for home clothes and bed sheets used by wealthy families, symbolizing comfort and personal prestige.

Brand owner Edi Mungai was unable to produce new creations due to harsh environmental factors during World War II, so he could only sew for customers to make a living. After the war, Edi Mungai saw people's pursuit of new things and quality of life, so he used what his mother and school had learned to create Product innovation. Soon, Edi’s keen judgment on the market allowed the brand business to begin to expand in Italy.

The pocket squares produced by Mungai, like the custom-made suits, are all handmade. In particular, the signature embroidery details are not artificial machines. They are all hand-woven by the masters in the workshop, so that they can present such warm and rich details.
