Coherence’s “Alain” trousers take inspiration from snapshots of French sailor, writer, and tennis player Alain Gerbault, who was often seen on the court wearing high-waisted, loose-fitting trousers, with a tie fastened around the waist in place of a belt.

Crafted from Coherence’s exclusive Jaspé Striped Twill, the fabric showcases the brand’s artistry in textile innovation. Using dyed yarns with a marbled effect, it reconstructs the appearance of early 20th-century railway stripes.

Alain is a straight-leg trouser with a single pleat, detailed with a self-fabric belt and side buttons at the waist.

A fishtail back, interior waistband and rear buttons, along with intricate stitching, give the trousers a refined and well-balanced finish.
