The 348 last type used in Alex Whole Cut Oxford shoes began production in 2004. It can be said to be the most important last type developed by Crockett & Jones in the past 20 years.

In 2012, the 348 last became the preferred last for the James Bond movie SKYFALL, and three years later became the preferred last for SPECTER, further consolidating Crockett & Jones' legendary status in the shoemaking industry.
